Sarah Grittini
b. 1982Sarah was born on the island of Elba in 1982. Her passion for art and aesthetics was ignited and nurtured thanks to stimuli received from her grandfather and artist friends such as Giò Pomodoro, Mario Luzi and Mario Schifano.
After her high-school education in humanities, Sarah enrolled in the Faculty of Law at the Catholic University of Milan, obtaining her law degree with the highest grades in 2006. Under the tutorship of Professor Umberto Basile, she then specialised in forensic and insurance medicine with a focus on criminal profiling.
At the age of 24, she had the extraordinary opportunity to be selected by Vogue Italia’s editor-in-chief Franca Sozzani, initially working as the Styling Assistant for Anna dello Russo and subsequently for Giovanna Battaglia at L’Uomo Vogue/Vogue. In the editorial office of L’Uomo Vogue, she first gained experience in the field of brand coordination and photo shoot preparations for leading photographers and fashion editors.

Since 2007 she has held a permanent contract as Fashion Editor for L’Uomo Vogue. This position has allowed her to conceive her features @Uomovogue/Vogue with some of the world’s finest photographers, including Mario Sorrenti, Olaf Wipperfürth, Pierpaolo Ferrari, Paolo Roversi, Peter Lindbergh, Stefano Galuzzi, Marco Pietracupa, Eric Guillerme, Lorenzo Bringheli and Carlotta Manaigo, among many others. She has also been responsible for numerous covers of the magazine L’Uomo Vogue.
Specialised in celebrity styling (having worked with personalities including Alba Rohrwacher, Sky Ferreira, Paz Vega, Eva Riccobono, Margot Robbie, will.I.am, Isabella Ferrari and Kasia Smutniak, among others), Sarah boasts a considerable portfolio of Italian and international contacts.
Sarah frequently coordinates events where celebrity casting and styling services are required. Such occasions include the Lexus Venice 2017 event, model shots for Bulgari Cannes 2014/2015, and event support for Vogue/L’Uomo Vogue.
Alongside her exclusive contract, with the permission of her publisher, Sarah has also worked on parallel projects in the field of art. From 2008 to 2015, she acted as fashion stylist for Toilet Paper Magazine by Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari, collaborating with top Italian and international artists including Nico Vascellari, Roberto Cuoghi, Floria Sigismondi, Petrik Halifay and Cady Noland.
Again with Cattelan, in 2016 Sarah worked as fashion consultant for the realisation of the book-event “1968: Italian Radical Design” – Dakis collection, also putting her name to the cover of Wallpaper magazine for the Milan Furniture Fair event.
In 2015 she was costume designer for the film “La vita oscena” directed by Renato di Maria.
In 2017 she was responsible for the costumes of the theatrical play “Niente, più niente al mondo” by Fabio Cherstich and produced by the Franco Parenti Theatre. For the 2013/2014 season, she flanked the Versace group in the position of stylist and fashion consultant, working on Versace Jeans Collection, Versace Collection, Versace Haute Couture and Versus by Christopher Kane.
Between 2015 and 2017 Sarah conceived major advertising campaigns with a focus on brand luxury, including Armani Shanghai Collection, Maserati, Xacus, Fila, l’Oréal, Paoloni, Bergdorf Goodman and August Getty Atelier.
From 2018 to january 2020, she held the position of fashion creative director at VanityFair Italia.
Sarah currently lives between Milan and L.A.
